If anyone is interested in sending me anything in the mail, here are my details:
Blakey Larsen, PCV Peace Corps Private Mail Bag Apia, (Western) Samoa
Apparently there is often confusion over the name of the country Samoa and the country American Samoa. Samoa used to be called Western Samoa but changed its name in 1997. My point is that it is helpful to specify NOT-American Samoa when you mail something. And there are no zip/postal codes in Samoa. If you are so generous that you are sending me a package, please don't mail anything too valuable. The best thing to do is write on the outside of the package "May God protect this parcel," or something equally guilt inducing to someone who may want to open it before I receive it.
It can also be a good idea to throw in some pens or other school supplies and then on the customs form you should only write "school supplies" or "chalk." The idea being that chalk is a less exciting find than American magazines and candy.
Mail takes about 2-3 weeks, so please don't send anything perishable. And it can be really hot for 2-3 weeks on it's journey, so don't send things that shouldn't melt. like popsicles. I HEREBY PLEDGE: to write a handwritten letter back to anyone who writes to me. It will be lots of fun! |
Also, i need to mail those chapters gift certificates to you, I assume this is to LA (unless the chapters dynasty is slowly taking over local beach shops in samoa as well), what is your parents' address?
ahhh rez isn't the same without you. You are the missing spice my dear.
